ABOUT US

Armonia (harmony), beyond the conceptual approach of moderation and balance, is an ancient Greek goddess daughter of Zeus and Electra. Armonia married Cadmus in neighboring Samothrace and the god Hephaestus gave her as a gift the famous necklace of harmony which is shown in our logotype. We decide to give the name of harmony to the villas as the approach of the redesign of the building was to create a vacation house which blends in with the rich natural environment and the sea, while providing all the comforts to the visitors.

Armonia Villas is a family business consisting of six autonomous houses in a fully renovated old family house. The house was in the past the residence and the Atelier of my father, painter Antonis Andreadis, that he was born and died in Thassos.

The villas are decorated with original paintings made by him and by other Greek painters.

Goddess Armonia was daughter of Zeus and Electra, and came from the island of Samothrace. She married King Cadmus of Thebes. To the wedding of Armonia were invited all the Gods who came down from the Mount Olympus, with marvelous gifts and the Muses sang the anthem of matrimonial hymn. The children of Cadmus and Armonia was Semele, Ino, Antinoe, Agave and Polydoros.

All of the wedding gifts of the Gods to Armonia were notable: the two most important was the gown and the necklace. The gown was believed that it was a gift of Venus, woven by the Graces. The necklace, which is shown as a deduction in our logotype, was the gift of Hephaestus. At the end of their lives Armonia and Cadmus were transformed into dragons and transferred from Zeus to the Champs Elysees

Several generations later, Queen Iokaste -the wife of King Laius that after his death is tragically married her son Oedipus- wore the legendary Necklace that allow her to retain her youth and beauty. This famous necklace, after a lot of years, is given as a gift to Eriphyle from her brother Polynices, that they are descendants of Armonia, to win her favour of claiming the throne of Thebes against their brother Eteocles.

Finally, the necklace of Armonia is given by Alkmeon, the son of Eriphyle, as tribute to the oracle of Delphi.
